Building on the traditions of World Potato Congress, the impressive business programme will be complemented by an exciting social programme, giving all delegates ample opportunity to enjoy others' company, make valuable contacts and soak up the culture and scenery of the host city and nation.
Full details of the comprehensive social programme will be published shortly. Opportunities will include:
Sunday evening, 27th May 2012. A first chance to see the stunning Congress venue and meet fellow delegates in an informal setting.
Tuesday 29th May 2012. A taste of Scottish food and culture and a night to remember.
This exciting gathering is being held in the truly unique Grand Gallery of the National Museum of Scotland.
Recently re-opened after a £47million refurbishment, the museum houses a vast range of exhibits ranging from Scottish national treasures to fascinating artefacts from around the globe. At its centrepiece is the stunning Grand Gallery and this is where you’ll dine – at the very heart of the museum surrounded by its breath-taking architectural splendour and historic treasures. In fact, the Grand Gallery itself houses the UK's single largest museum installation, the Window on the World: a four-storey, 18-metre (59ft) high display of more than 800 objects!

Where better for the Congress to reach its climax than in a place where, according to its Director: "…the cultures of Scotland and the world meet, and the arts and sciences connect."
Even better still, we are busily putting together an entertainment programme that’s set to match this unbeatable location. So whether you prefer to sit back and enjoy virtuoso performances or get up on your feet and experience the local culture at first hand, there will be plenty to enthral.

This event is lounge suits/cocktail dresses. However, participants are also welcome to dress in their own traditional national costumes, or to adopt Scottish national dress for the night. If you would like to do this, click here to download a PDF of a company specialising in the hire of kilts/sashes and other tartan-based items for men and women.
A varied itinerary giving those travelling with delegates the chance to see more of this inspiring city and the surrounding area, as well as have free time to enjoy shopping or Edinburgh features of particular interest. The programme will include attendance at the Welcome Reception and Gala Dinner (see above). Those wishing to attend those functions but otherwise make their own itinerary will be able to book as Accompanying Persons. More Information >
