Think global. Win local.
Think global. Win local. This isn't just a Congress slogan. It reflects how the event will operate... with keynote presentations looking at crucial issues from the widest possible global perspective and follow-up sessions then allowing every participant to explore the aspects most relevant to them.
After each Congress plenary, the smaller concurrent sessions will examine relevant technical and commercial/consumer issues, while even smaller participative workshops will continue this, but also address areas where these disciplines overlap - for example, when considering topics such as potato taste and texture or advanced breeding techniques for consumer-positive trait selection.
Each workshop will be repeated so, across the Congress, delegates will be able to choose the four workshops of most interest. Yet everyone will also be able to stay well informed on the wider picture from all 12 workshops, thanks to panel discussions that will bring subjects back together and highlight important interactions. A final closing plenary session will concentrate on seizing the opportunities discussed.

| Industry Interaction day |
The host industry will be throwing open its doors, giving every delegate the chance to visit a selection of growers, breeders, packers/processors, retailers and scientific institutions (depending on choice of theme), ensuring they see how the British potato industry works and can extend Congress themes into this practical context. |
