Accommodation

• Late May is a busy time in Edinburgh and delegates are encouraged to book early to avoid disappointment.

Climate

• The temperature in Edinburgh in late May is quite warm (average daytime high 13-16°C and nighttime low 6-9°C). You may wish to bring warm clothes for the evenings.

Visas

• EU citizens. You must present a passport or ID card valid for the duration of your stay in order to enter Scotland (or the elsewhere in the UK) for tourist visits of up to 3 months.
• Citizens of other countries. You must have a valid passport. You may also require a visa. For more information click here: www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/

Should you need a letter of invitation to obtain an entry visa you will find a link to request this on the final section of the booking process following successful payment. These will only be issued to delegates who have fully registered and paid. Please note that we cannot enter into correspondence with the UK authorities on your behalf and any invitation letter does not imply any financial liability on our part.

Please note that the Potato Council (hosts of WPC 2012) is not obliged to provide any such letter of invitation and does so in its sole and absolute discretion. If the Potato Council refuses to provide a letter of invitation, any booking fees which have been paid will be refunded. However, other than this, if you cancel or fail to attend because of visa difficulties you will be subject to the Terms & Conditions shown to you and accepted by you as part of the booking process. Potato Council does not warrant that any letters of invitation will be accurate, correct, or accepted by the relevant authorities. Potato Council accepts no liability whatsoever in relation to any such Letters of Invitation.
